Turner Monumental AME Church encompasses the story of a church, a denomination, and a newly freed people determined to create a new and just community. TMC was named for the twelfth bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, the Right Reverend Henry McNeal Turner who served Georgia from 1896 to 1908.
